Afionas is a traditional Greek village located on the Northwest coast of the island of Corfu, above the village of Agios Georgios, a sprawling resort set at the mouth of a wide, wooded valley with a long, gently sloping beach that is considered by many to be the best on Corfu.

Perched high upon verdant hills, Afionas offers spectacular views of Agios Georgios Bay to the south and the islands of Kravia, Sikia and Gineka, and further on the Diapontia Islands of Mathraki, Othoni and Erikousa in the Ionian Sea to the north.

First inhabited during the 6th century, Afionas is small, quiet and peaceful. In the centre of the village stands the old church in a quiet square from which  several narrow streets fork off to the old village.
